NA LCS Week 4 Recap

NA LCS Summer Split 2019 Week 4 Recap

The North American LCS Summer Split 2019 has been a fantastic watch so far. With teams pulling off upsets each week and a proper race for the top spot, we could witness one of the best splits and playoffs ever.

Saturday – Game 7

The opening game of the week was Liquid vs. Golden Guardians. After such a strong start to the split, Golden Guardians have started to slip up. The matchup against Liquid would have been the perfect opportunity to solidify themselves as true playoff contenders but they fell short.

100 Thieves pulled off possibly the biggest upset of the week with their win against Cloud9. After starting the split 0-5 they managed to pick up their first win to end Week 3 on a high. They obviously brought this momentum into Week 4 as they put on a stellar performance against arguably the best team in the league.

OpTic found success against TSM despite using their Academy mid-laner. CLG picked up an important win against FlyQuest which could help them edge out the middle pack later in the split. To round the day off, Clutch Gaming came out on top against Echo Fox in the battle amongst the teams at the bottom.

Sunday – Game 8

Cloud9 kicked off the Sunday games against CLG and redeemed themselves for the prior slip up against 100 Thieves. This win keeps them in close contention for the top spot. 100 Thieves made in 3 wins in a row against a struggling FlyQuest. Have the thieves finally found the formula for their long-awaited success?

Team Liquid were able to complete a 2-0 week against Clutch and create a slight gap for themselves in 1st place. TSM and Golden Guardians faced off in what could be an important series down the line. With both suggesting a fight for a top 2 spot this split, these games can be vital. In this case, TSM came out victorious.

Week 4 can to an end with OpTic Gaming facing off against Echo Fox. Once again OpTic had their Academy mid-lane, Scarlet, play in replace of Crown. OpTic looked commanding during the early game but faltered when it came to mid and late game. This led to Echo Fox picking up what was arguably, an upset win.
